A practical starting point for jasmine green tea is 80°C for 1–3 minutes. Use about one teaspoon of loose tea for every 180 mL of water. For a fuller aroma, increase the leaf amount slightly instead of steeping for a long time.
How to brew jasmine green tea
- Bring fresh cold water to a boil, then let it cool to about 80°C.
- Add roughly one teaspoon of tea per 180 mL of water.
- Steep for 1–3 minutes, then remove the leaves.
- Taste before deciding whether the next steep needs more tea or another 15–30 seconds.
Why not pour boiling water directly over the leaves?
Jasmine green tea still has a green tea base. High heat speeds extraction and can bring out bitterness. Start around 80°C for a cleaner cup with distinct floral notes.
About Jasmine Flow
Moodvera Jasmine Flow is organic green tea scented with jasmine blossoms. Because the base is green tea, it contains caffeine. Follow the instructions and ingredient information on your package.
How to cold brew jasmine green tea
Start with 5–7 g of tea in 500 mL of cold water. Refrigerate for 6–8 hours, then strain. Leaf size and personal taste affect the strength; adjust the next batch to your preference. Keep cold-brew tea refrigerated.
Can I add honey?
Yes. Taste the tea plain first, then add a small amount so the jasmine aroma remains clear.
Can jasmine tea be resteeped?
Whole leaves can often be steeped again. Try another 15–30 seconds for the second infusion and stop when the aroma becomes too light.
Does jasmine green tea contain caffeine?
Yes. Health Canada gives an average of 30–50 mg per 237 mL for brewed black or green tea. This is a general comparison, not a laboratory measurement of Jasmine Flow. Leaf amount, steeping time and serving size change the amount in your cup.
